The Kieran Burke Festival of Rugby
The annual Kieran Burke Festival of Rugby is held in honour of one of our youngest and most enthusiastic players, Kieran Burke, who we lost to myeloid displastic syndrome (an exceptionally rare form of leukaemia) in January 2004 at the age of just 6 years old.
The festival is a celebration of Kieran's life and love of rugby which has been supported by Leinster Rugby from its inception, something that is hugely appreciated by the club and the Burke Family.
Up to 800 kids from clubs across Leinster come together for a day of rugby and fun in memory of Kieran.
You can read some press coverage from previous festivals here and here.
Kieran's Mum, Kate, is one of the co-founders of Anam Cara, a charity which aims to help the parents and siblings of deceased children cope with their loss. You can read more about the work they do and the support they offer here.
