The Eagle Eye - Pics and Vids

St Benildus supporting the Eagles !!

Two lads from St Benildus college recently presented Dave Hicks and Debra Bolton with a cheque for €1,500 following their annual fundraiser at their school. The Eagles were thrilled and Debra had a few nice words to thank the boys for their support and encouragement. We really appreciate St Benildus, not just for the €1,500 which we will put to great use, but for the support they've shown over the years with the festivals they organise and we love to play in, and most importantly - for thinking of us. It's a fantastic feeling for the Eagles to know that their peers down the road think of them as friends because the Eagles learn so much by meeting the lads from St Benildus. Well done boys! The Eagles will be there to support you too ! Call us if you need us.

Leinster Rugby honour our very own David Hicks for his contribution to rugby.

Dave was kind enough to bring ten of his assistant coaches along to share in this fantastic occasion. At the begiining of the night the president of Leinster Rugby even singled out the award to Dave Hicks as one of the more special of the night for all the work he has done in developing and promoting tag rugby for those with different abilities and special needs, The President also spoke of his experience at a tag rugby blitz and he made a specific point of advising all the professional players and attendees at the awards ceremony to try and attend one of tag rugby blitzes that DLSP anf other clubs host suggesting they would quickly realise what sport and teamwork is all about. We were all very proud of Dave on the night and his award is well deserved. Dave doesn't do what he does for glory or reward, but that doesnt mean he shouldnt get some!  We were thrilled to cheer him on the night. Here are some pics from the event.

The Eagles had a great day at the Wooden Spoon festival in Limerick. It was hosted by Garryown FC and the organisation and supports they provided were absolutely fantastic. It was a big job planning an event for over 350 players and twenty teams from across the UK and Ireland and the Eagles are very thankful to the large team of volunteers who arranged it. They provided a great facilty in Garryowen, lovely grub (even though we ate the provided sandwiches before we should have- oops), brilliant referees, great laughs and a chance to play against really good teams. A big thank you to John O'Callaghan and his team and Matty and Michael the Garryown co-ordinators that looked after the Eagles and ensured we had a day to remember. We really do appreciate it folks.

Here's a snapshot of the day.
