Weekend Wrap

(31 Mar 2019)

Our U20s welcomed touring English side Ashby Rugby U20s to Kirwan Park on Saturday with the home side running out victorious 42-10.

Salmo registered the opening try of the game after just 5 mins with Jake Finlay superbly converting the first of his 6 from 6 on the day. Ashby hit back with one of their own before Salmo crossed again with another conversion from Jake as the sides turned around 14-5 at half time.

The second half saw Salmo pull clear with four more tries although the final scoreline was a little harsh on our visitors who more than held their own for most of what was an entertaining game and a useful hit out before next Sunday and the start of the Harry Gale Cup as the squad prepare to face Cill Dara at Beech Park (3:00 PM).

Elsewhere, TallaSalle had a tough day at the office at Rockfield Park as they went down 15-60 to Stillorgan-Rathfarnham in the quarter-final of the Guilfoyle-James Cup.

This week we will welcome Ashbourne Rugby to Kirwan Park on Thursday evening (K/O 8:00PM) for the final of the Spencer Cup and we would ask everyone to make every effort to come out and support the team as they chase the final remaining piece of silverware of the season!

Don't forget our Tag Rugby event in aid of Habitat for Humanity which takes places next Saturday:
