THANK YOU
Many thanks to all of you who turned out in your finest last Friday for our fundraiser The BIG Quiz….. – special word of praise for the ladies who’s attires were stunning and turned the evening into a glittering affair……..
We had a total of 20 tables of four - which is a respectable crowd for what was a damp, stay at home evening, but battle it you did and your attendance is very much appreciated by the organising gang.
Congrats to Joe Dalton and his mottley crew for winning the quiz outright - although the jury’s out on the question of the number of piano keys – grand, baby, baby grand, upright, concert or the key for the lid !!!
Winners will enjoy a cut glass decanter set from Newbridge Silverware and an outing for four (with lessons for one - ???) at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club – thank you sponsors for your kind contribution of prizes.
The raffle was a ready up – I won nowt, nothing, nada or even anything (note to self: next year this needs to be rigged) – The high number pinks won all, so clearly we need to bring back our blind raffle ticket extractor…..
The auction proved that the Celtic Tiger is not yet dead with four famous team kits up for grabs – Pumas, London Irish, Lions and NZ finest…….

Dan Carter of the All Blacks with DLSP u-11 Cian Lillis after signing
the jersey for the London Irish fund raising BIG quiz
All signed by very famous wellwishers and donated to the fundraising committee through trojan like acquisitions by David Lillis and Alan Hayden – serious thank you guys.
The silence in the club’s Stratton hall for the final raffle piece, a New Zealand, all blacks XV signed jersey was in complete contrast to the noisy bunch that graced the hall for the earlier part of the evening – congrats and best wishes to Noel Maguire of The Graduate in Killiney Shopping Centre for the winning bid which brought the fundraising event to a most respectable finish with nett evening’s profits in excess of 2,200 yo yo’s.
Again a big thank you to those there on the night, for your support, spot prizes and all else that contributed to a most enjoyable fundraiser.
Thank You,
Graham S.
