At last Friday's club dinner a very special presentation took place, when one of the true legends associated with "Salmo" (and in particular Palmerston FC), Stevie Harte (who sadly passed away recently) was honoured, as a recipient of the club's prestigious Hall of Fame Award.
Many memories were recalled on the night by his Friends from all the clubs who where in attendance.
Stevie was a true legend of the club and literally no matter where in Ireland you struck up a conversation about rugby, if the person you spoke to new Palmo (or in latter years Salmo), they knew or had hear of Stevie!
He was mentioned by various speakers on the night and it was clear to see the affection he was held in by his fellow peers in Irish Rugby, A standing ovation that was given to his brother Peter, when he went to accept the award on behalf of the family, was a fitting tribute to one of the legends of our club.
