Well done to Ciaran Daly and all his troops in the mini & youth section, who put on an excellent day at Kirwan Park on Sunday. The clubhouse was packed to capacity, when the main man in red arrived, armed with selection boxes for all the children (young and old).
Under the guidance of Graham Smyth, parents from all teams took their turns at selling the excellent 2011 calendars (which is one of the main fund raising tools of the U-11 & U-12 tour to London Irish later this season). Special Thanks to Alan Hayden who was also one of the key people on this project.
At €5 each the calendars offer exceptional value for money (5 for €20), they are an excellent production, with high quality pictures and finish, with each month kindly sponsored by local businesses within the club.
On the day it was great to see some real club legends like Ron Buckley there with his Grandson, Ron has been a proud member of the club for over 50 years having played for the Palmerston FC with great distinction over the years, Ron also coached many successful teams for DLSP. Former players of his like Dano McCartney, Owen O'Leary and Gav Stokes are now plying their trade as coaches in the mini's.
Well done to MC William Clutterbuck, who did a great job with the very successful raffle, as he ensured that all the tickets were sold and he announced all the lucky winners on the night.
Special thanks to Gerry Doyle, Ann, Gerladine and all the rest of the team who provided Mulled wine and pies/cream for everybody!
Below are some snaps taken of those who where there and enjoying themselves.
