Season Opener on Tonight:
Tonight sees the first fixture off the season taking place, as the Salmo 1st Xv take on St.Marys in the Leinster League. Kick Off is at 8pm and admission is FREE for Adults and Children.
The Management Committee would also like to advise that in recognition of outstanding service to De La Salle Palmerston FC for over 50 years, there will be a minutes silence before the game for our late friend and member Ron Buckley (R.I.P.) who recently passed away.
Mini/Youth Section Annual Open day this Sunday:
Youth Section Chairperson Ciaran Daly’s troops have been busy at work, organising their Annual Open Day, which has become a very important date in our calendar and takes place this Sunday from 10am.
It’s a perfect opportunity for anyone between the age of 4-18 who would like to try rugby to come along and see our impressive facilities. Ciaran advises that this season we will have over 400 players and 60 qualified coaches.
Also in attendance on the day, will be a very special guest in the Heineken Cup, so make sure to bring your camera along too!!
Ian Burke to play for Leinster Tonight Vs Northampton:
Congratulations to Ian Burke (Son of Vice President Karl Burke), who has been selected at Scrum Half for the Leinster U-19’s tonight Vs Northampton. Ian learnt how to play rugby in the Salmo Youth Section.
Rugby World cup comes to Kirwan Park:
Get the diary out!!! enjoy the experience of watching all of Ireland’s Rugby World Cup matches, in YOUR club, as they will ALL be shown live at Kirwan Park, more information to follow.

Baby Boom to secure Youth Section’s Future:
Congratulations Shane & Vorneen Tynan on the recent birth of their first child, son Killian.
Also to another one of Salmo’s favourite sons, Alan “Slapper” Davey and his partner Joanna, who had double joy with the birth of twins Sennan and Aoife
Salmo men get Married!
Next weekend, Barry Hicks (Son of Dave Hicks (and Brother of J3 player Jimmy) and of I survived a trip with Jinxies Panda’s in Warsaw fame), will marry Fiancé Orflaith Concannon at the Great Southern Hotel in Galway and last weekend, the Mc Cabe Clan, celebrated the wedding of Ronan (brother of stalwart Damian and Colm) to Joanne Maher in lovely Leitrim.

Having had the highs of winning the MBA World Cup last season with the Smurfit Business School, Paul Maher recently suffered a nasty Knee injury which he just got operated on. We wish him a speedy recovery.
