Salmo - One Club Many Teams
Touch Tournament A great Success
The second Salmo touch tournament took place last Saturday May 28th. Run later than last season it clashed with, exams, Kings of Leon and the Magners League Final.
Over 50 players participated in four teams. Each team had a representation from all sections of the club. Congratulations to the winning team (seen above) Alan Barry, Sven Johnston, Neil Murphy, Mick Morrin, Simon O'Connor, Scott Finlay, Nathan Johnston, Warren Doyle, Declan Faralley and Michael Nevin.
Thanks to Gerry Doyle and his team who provided an excellent bbq. Special thanks to Ed Sheridan, Lar Hudson, Gary Glenn and Paul Fitzachery for managing the event.
A very special thanks to Frank Ennis and his touch colleagues for preparing the pitches and referring the matches
Also to Conor Mc cormick who was the driving force behind the tournament and ensured it took place.

Director of Rugby Conor Mc Cormick is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Tunney and Gavin Stokes as joint Directors of Junior Rugby.
Two Salmo stalwarts, they have both been playing for the club for over 20 years. Their new roles will see them being responsible for co ordinating all rugby related matters concerning J2,J3,J4, J5 and vets.
Under Conor’s guidance they have already prioritised the key areas of J2 rugby as being the area to focus/development for the 2011/12 season and have already put a very strong team in place, with the announcement of Niall Fitzgerald and Tom Hynes as the coaching team for J2 next season.
Dalys Men get their Rewards
Youths Chairman Ciaran Daly, ensured that the 2010/11 season finished with the proper acknowledgements to the Youths players, when they held their annual awards presentation on the last day of the season.
With nearly 500 children of all ages representing Salmo this season, this event is a very importantly date as recognition is given to the players. A selection of the award presentations are shown below:

Golf Day
On Monday 13th June, the DLSP Golf Classic will take place at Dun Laoghaire Golf club. Entry fee is €75 and that includes golf and meal afterwards. Tee times are from 1.30pm to 4pm, for further details contact Karl Burke or Conor McCormick on 087 2416934
