"Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School (HABS) U11's from England aretouring Leinster teams this week. Their tour kicked off on Tuesdayevening with a much anticipated fixture against DLSP U11's underfloodlights at Kirwan Park. The signature howling wind abated just before kick off and on the carpet like surface, both teams served up top drawer entertainment for the large numbers of spectators present.
There was no clash of styles as both teams set about moving the ball
and playing with real endeavour and commitment. Pride in ones shirt
clearly starts at a young age as neither team took a backward step.
Respect for each other and for the referees was impeccable, and as
David Lillis, President of DLSP recounted, "the future of rugby is
safe " with these kids. With new friends made, the first U11's
international under lights at DLSP will be recalled and spoken about
fondly for months, perhaps years, to come."
