The death has taken place of Dominic Dowling, Trustee and Legal Adviser to De La Salle Palmerston FC.
Dominic was a Past-Pupil of De La Salle College Churchtown and upon leaving the College, joined De La Salle RFC, where he represented the club at various levels and served on numerous committees within the club.
In 1985, he was heavily involved in the merger negotiaitions between De La Salle RFC and Palmerston FC, which was a historic event at the time, when the clubs became the first two to merge in Irish rugby history.
His funeral mass will take place tommorrow Tuesday January 22nd at 10am in the Church of the Assumption Dalkey, followed by burial in Mount Venus Cemetry.
